This module allows CubeSats to entablish a communication link with a earth ground station. The module can use UHF band (434 MHz) for transmit commands and receive command response, and the S-band (2.4 GHz) to send mission data down to Earth. Transmit power is about 27 dBm for each band. Modulation parameters can be modified on-fly to save power and improve link quality.
The Q-COMM incorporates a microcontroller for data encoding or handling, and several interfaces to comunicate with other modules, (i.e. on-board computer of the satellite). Its aluminum enclosure improves EMI/EMC and helps to disipate heat from the module
